the cam sensor is under Power Steering pump! remove pump then set aside,do not remove any power steering hoses, cam sensor is reachable now!! take out bolt that holds it in place,pull straight up to remove..

That engine is pushrod, it is the GM 3100 if I'm not mistaken. What are symptoms because bent valves are unlikely.
Check the lower intake gasket, or the thermostat...
