It is a love-story gone wrong. A man and woman got married and traveled to Europe for their honeymoon. The man came home to Versailles, Kentucky and began building a castle for his wife. Before construction was completed the couple divorced and the castle sat empty for decades. The original owner passed away and a businessman bought the castle and began to complete building. During this process a fire broke out and damage most of the interior of the castle. Renovations began again and are almost complete.

∙ 14y agoThe Castle is actually located just outside of Lexington in Woodford County, Kentucky. Coming from Lexington take Versailles road towards Woodford County. You will see the Castle on the right. Coming from the Bluegrass Parkway you will be on Versailles Road headed towards Lexington. You will see the Castle to your left.
