The fuel injection system is adjusted for temp of air and car temp. When cold the injection is richer than when its hot. Having the same effect as a choke. There is also a cold start injector on the side of the intake manifold. This assists the normal injectors when the car is cold by adding more fuel to the mixture at startup.
