Berga an der Elster is in the Greiz district of the state of Thuringia, Germany. In World War 2 iIt was a sub-camp of Buchenwald. It was also was used as a sub-camp for Stalag IX-B, which was, nominally at least, an ordinary German military prisoner-of-war camp.
