its on the drivers side head.
On the side of the water pump housing
Bottom right of the water pump. Dead center of the engine in the front.
check coolant temp sensor, the computer is still running on open loop, doesnt know engine is cold, unplug sensor, it should run the same, do you have check engine light on ??
thermostat stuck open?
Yes as long as the intake is not off of an LT1.. The intake in an LT1 350 is for a reverse cooling engine and doesn't have the same coolant passages, as well as not having a hole for the distributor.. LT1 used Opti-spark..
That would depend on what year your car is.Mine is a 1996 LT1 and the sending unit is right on the water pump in the front of the engine.~FN~www.forumnut.net
Yes. There were no engine options, the LT1 was the engine.
If you have the LT1 engine with alum. heads, the orange Dex-Cool extended life coolant is recommended.
Disconnect the battery. Remove the air temp sensor, air filter hose, and accessory drive belt. Drain the radiator and remove the hoses from the water pump. Remove the distributor cap and rotor, and replace with new ones.
A vortec 5.7 is a lt1 based engine.
It should be on the right side cylinder head ( passenger side) between and just above #6 and #8 spark plugs. This is where it is on my '95 Corvette.
