Don't know the vehicle in detail but the sensor can only be either round or next to the front crankshaft pulley or on round the flywheel, perhaps on the bell housing? the crankshaft sensor for a Jeep 2000 is located behind the starter you have to remove the starter to replace it Tommy :-)
The crankshaft sensor on a 4.0L Jeep Grand Cherokee is mounted on the top driver side of the transmission bell housing.
The crankshaft position sensor in a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 liter is located left of the starter. In order to remove the crankshaft position sensor the CKP mounting bolt will have to be removed first.
