I was looking for the same thing. This is what i found on TeenNick.com

What are creds? How do I get me some? When you first sign up on TeenNick.com, you get 100 creds to spend in Avatar Mall on clothes and hair for your avatar. 100 creds will buy you a pretty basic outfit and some hair, but if you want more of a wardrobe and the ability to change your avatar from day to day, you've got to earn more creds. Luckily, it is unbelievably easy to do so. All you have to do is use the site and keep an eye out for a pretty alert at the right top of the page. When you see it, click the "Claim" button and you'll get some creds added to your account! The more you use the site (posting on and reading the message boards, clicking links and checking stuff out), the more creds you'll earn. Easy peasy. You can also win creds in contests on the site - keep an eye on the @TeenNick blog for contest announcements.

1. What about the cred fairy? Make the cred fairy give me some creds!You really don't have to stress about the cred fairy -- sure, it's nice to win a whole bunch of creds that way, but it's seriously just as easy (probably easier) to build them up the old-fashioned way (see above). If you're still wondering though, the deal is: the cred fairy looks around the message boards for particularly interesting, well-thought out posts that make you go "hmm" or "yay" or "thanks for the very thorough info" or "thanks for helping me out" or "I just have to respond to that" or "that's so true" or "that's so funny" or "that's so... awesome." And when it sees them, it drops a buttload of creds on the poster (even though the cred fairy does not have a butt). The cred fairy also just kinda keeps its eyes out for posters who make the boards a better place to be -- the kind of person who has a lot of posts but you can tell they weren't all just done to get their post count up.
