It is possible that a Mustang transmission will fit in a Lincoln Mark VII. It is likely that the clutch plate and the pilot bearing will have to be changed.

there is no such a code that long. please write one code at the time
the Lincoln continental shares the same dash with the mark series. The continental had a 2.3 turbo as an available option.
Mark where the wires go, disconnect the wire connector, remove 4 screws and remove. Reverse the procedure to install.

The way I did it was to disconnect the wire connector and waited a few seconds and re-connected it.
