Older engines have the dipstick on the driver's side. There is a hole in the side of the block between 5 & 7. Newer ones have the dipstick tube in the passenger side of the oil pan.
It goes into a hole on the driver's side of the block between #5 and #7. There is an indentation in the head casting to make room for it.
Excessive internal engine wear (bad rings)
On a small block Chevy the distributor goes through a hole in the intake manifold. On a Pontiac the distributor goes behind the intake manifold.

Make sure the hole in the bearing is aligned with the hole in the block. Use a cam bearing installation tool to get the bearing straight.
As long as the 350 is a fuel injected engine / TBI / Throttle Body Injection engine there is NO difference.
