The brake switch is located on the brake master cylinder!
Here is a link to an illustrated step-by-step procedure for replacting a Vanagon ignition switch: http://carboncow.net/vanagon/projects/ignition_switch.htm
One switch is on handlebars at brake lever ,the other is on your foot brake right behind where your foot sits .
It is directly under the hand brake lever, attached to the metal bracket. Carefully removing the rubber or plastic cover will reveal it and the little wire going towards the dashboard.
When your foot puts pressure on the brake pedal there is a switch that relays the brake pedal being pushed to the lights which makes them turn on.
If you mean the switch that turns on the brake lights when you put the brakes on , it is above the brake arm of the foot pedal.
It will be mounted to a pressure port on the service (foot) brake valve
the brake switch is just above the pedal.they are usually white. when you depress the pedal it opens the switch and when you take your foot off the pedal it closes the switch.
The probable cause of the brake lights not working on your Renault is the brake light switch. The brake light switch can be found under the dashboard by the foot pedal.
On most newer vehicals you must have your foot on the brake in order to shift out of park. The brake light switch is most likely the problem since it operates your brake lights and allows the transmission to be shifted out of park. The switch is located on the brake pedal arm just above where you place your foot. They are generally fairly easy to replace.
Adjust or replace stop lght switch
The switch is located down by the foot petal, near the brake booster shaft that pushes the master cylinder. Its not fixable, if it is inoperable, you replace it.
