The fuel filter for your Santafe is located in the fuel tank. Hope this answers your question on this subject.
It's in the fuel tank.
The fuel tank air filter on a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe is apparently not to be confused with the fuel tank filter that is located in the fuel tank. The Fuel tank air filter is supposed to be located inside the car on the left side in the back of the car underneath a plastic door marked with a GAS Pump picture stamped on it. I found the door and opened it. However, I didn't see anything that looks like an air filter.
It is inside of the fuel tank.
On the 2001-2006 Hyundai Santa Fe (4 cyl or V6), the fuel filter is a special "long life" type of filter located in the gas tank. It is better known as a "fuel screen", or "fuel strainer", that surrounds the fuel pump. The filter is generally only replaced if/when you're replacing the fuel pump.
