It would be nice to know the year of your Nissan Altima. For Nissan 2000 Altima GXE the air filter is located right next to the battery. Just push off the 4 clips that hold the top of the filter housing and pull the top off just enough to remove/replace the air filter. Close it and and pull the clips back on.

Probably close to where the glove compartment would be. It is very hard to see and you will have to be underneath the vehicle. Also, the oil filter is kinda small.

The oil filter is located on the back of the motor closer to the passenger side. If you lay down behind the front right wheel and look up towards the back of the motor you will see a small cylinder protruding. That is what your looking for
