That's not true, generation 4 prelude (93-96) have fuel filter on the backwall, roughly across from the steering wheel. Generation 5 (97-01) have fuel filter under brake fluid reservoir, they are hard to get to and require crow foot tool to take old filter off. If the car is a 01 or 02 with the 3.5l engine then the oil filter is located in the oil pan. If you look directly at the bottom of the oil pan you will see a black plastic cap (about 3" around). This is the oil filter cover. Remove this cover by unscrewing it ( counter clockwise - using a cup type oil filter wrench ) . The oil filter is in side this cap and is a cartridge type. ( it looks more like a fuel filter than an oil filter.

The filter is in the tank, part of the fuel pump module.Answera good possibility is that your 01 is set up the same way as my 97 and in that case, the fuel filter is part of the fuel pump. i haven't taken mine apart yet to find out if i can clean the filter or if it actually needs to be replaced, but if it does require replacement, i know that it costs around $230 from an auto parts store.
