My technical English is not so good but will try to help.
I have Carisma 1,8 16v 1997 and for my carisma it is somewhere between air filter and steering wheel and under some electric system elements and another thing that I don't recognize. And there is a flexible translucent pipe coming to engine from fuel filter, connected to engine lowly on the right side.
Hope this helps at least with direction where to look for it.
