Its not under the car, its actually under the air filter thing inside a small tube. Im not a car person but I watched my mechanic change mine in my 1985 Classic. You have to take off your air filter and the whole air filter holder thing, if that makes sense. Then toward your upper left its a small tube. The fuel filter goes inside that tube. It should be an inline filter on the passenger side located under the car near the rear door.

The fuel filter in under the car, in front of the tank, in the fuel line that leads from the tank to the front of the car, (i.e. to the engine.) This filter in attached via the use of quick-connectors.
The fuel filter is on-line under the chassis driver side, about at the level of the back seat of the driver.
Should be under the car on i believe the passenger side, it is one of the canister filters. Fairly simple to change.

The fuel filter is located under the driver's side on the frame just forward of the fuel tank. The fuel pressure will have to be bled off at the schrader valve on the fuel rail. It will also require a special tool to disconnect the fuel line from the filter.
you need a 20mm and 5/8 wrench and it is located under car on frame rail just in front of rear tire.
