2005 Kia Spectra does not contain a external fuel filter but rather has a fuel filter in the fuel pump it self. The filter in the pump is said to be a lifetime filter, but can be replaced if desired. The only time to replace the filter is if the pump itself is being replaced or serviced, otherwise its not necessary to replace

there is no fuel filter, after 2000 majority of cars do not use fuel filter mainly import cars, the only "fuel fillter" now is in the gas tank connected to the pump, but those are lifetime filters, (more of a strainer than a filter) if your wanting to keep you fuel system clean, just use a fuel injector cleaner or fuel system cleaner
on top of the engine to the right side. Unscrew the plastic cover, then just below on the right side there is a round black cap. Unscrew the cap and the filter is connected to it. Remove the filter and replace the 2 o-rings before putting the cap with new filter back. 2005 Amanti has a conventional spin on filter located under the engine (left front). Easy to change.
