Check the switch to see if anything is stuck in it. If the switch is otherwise fine, it is a problem with the electrical system. Open the fuse box and locate the fuse for the tailgate switch. Replace the fuse and try again.
I can't remember, but the most common cause of failure is the switch on the tailgate, not the fuse.
open the tailgate take out the light and look for a fuse or check your owners manual and your fuse box.
Neither will my tailgate, not sure if it's a fuse or what? Did you ever get yoru tailgate to open? for myself i just bought my rendez vous and all i have is a remote to open the tailgate,if ever i lose that remote im in deep trouble because there no switch or nothing to open it ;-(
the fuse panel is located inside veichle behind a small removeable couver at left end of instrument panel, below and to the left of steering column. you will find fuse on this panel.
pull the courtesy lamp fuse then have the insurance company of the person that hit you fix the tailgate
Hold the tailgate open about half way, release both tailgate straps, lift up and out on passenger side of tailgate, slide tailgate to the right, done.
open tailgate. unclip the cables that hold tailgate level they will unclip from the top anchor post without using any tools.then lift tailgate from left side so as tailgate hinge comes up from pivot point. then slide tailgate little to the left and you should have tailgate in your hands
Tailgate Party was created in 2009.
the fusebox is in the glove compartment on the left hand side behind a lil black metal plate... Thats where one is, theres always, the battery compartment fuses, the engine bay fuse box or the one inside the tailgate depending on what fuse you need.
From the fuse panel, hot in accy or run, comes a light blue with black wire, to the tailgate window switch in the dash. From this switch, two black wires go to ground, and a pink with light green and a pink with light blue wire go forward to the tailgate key switch. From the fuse panel, hot at all times, comes a black with white wire, also to the tailgate key switch. From the tailgate key switch comes a yellow with red wire directly to the tailgate window motor. Also from the tailgate key switch comes a tan with black wire, to a tailgate latch switch, and from there a red with yellow wire to the tailgate window motor. That latch switch functions to keep the window motor from working if the gate is not completely closed, and from what I hear, with wear and tear over time, begins to malfunction just from getting out of reach. If your window quit working, start there. Otherwise, it would be impossible to explain how those switches work together in the same circuit without a drawing, so I must recommend the website of helmdirect, for the electrical and troubleshooting manual I'm referring to, which I bought there, for the same vehicle. Best $25 I've spent.
Open the tailgate, remove the retaining cables from the studs, pull out on the passenger side of the tailgate.
