2 should be in wires coming off the alternator, and i believe about 5 more on drivers side tucked in fender near the firewall next to the junction block.

You Must take the exhaust off at the manifold.
Inside left frame rail, aprox under drivers seat.
remove inside door panel to access 3 nuts holding the mirror.
Your local auto parts store can sell you replacement fusible link wire that you can crimp on where the old one was. You just need to know what size or bring in a piece of the old one with you.
hook up a mechanical fuel pressure guage & go for a drive
go to autozone.com. and click on the heater core part for your sonoma. then there should be an install manual button u click on on the page. i have a 98 gmc wit a heater core out also. i think the 97 models you just have to take off the dash.

There will probably be several fusible links. They should be under the hood as well as possibly under the dash. Check in the inner fenders and close to the under the hood relay box.
