Follow the bottom hose of the radiator to the block. Where the hose enters is the location. Changing this has been answered.
The thermostat housing is located below the alternator and directly across from the lower right side of the radiator(not the lower radiator hose side).

The KA24e in the stanza does not use an air pump (SMOG pump in CA). Rather, it uses vacuum valves and a hose that runs from under the air box to the exhaust collector.
Its probably has a vaccume hose leak.
The heater inlet hose on a 92 Geo Metro is located in the rear of the engine compartment. It runs through the firewall and connects to the heater.
You have to tap into the heater hoses.
Drain the water from your 1987 Nissan Stanza. Remove the water return hose from the water pump. Remove the water pump retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new water pump.

There are four bolts holding the thermostat housing to the block and two bolts connecting the housing to the bottom radiator hose. Remove the housing. You will need to use liquid gasket maker as there are no longer gaskets for the thermostat.

There are two hoses that connect to the heater core, and they are located next to the brake master cylinder, on the driver side of the van. I believe the bottom hose is the inlet and the top hose is the outlet. Good Luck, Greg
