The hibernation cave is in the market in the buildings section.You can use it to store eggs that you don't have a habitat for so that you won't be taking space in the nursery that you need for another dragon.

How do you make dragons in DragonVale hibernate?
First of all, make sure you have a hibernation cave. Then, select the dragon you want to hibernate. Click 'move'. A green arrow should be pointing to the hibernation cave just like when you move dragons to different habitats. Click on the hibernation cave. Your dragon should now be sleeping in there. To get it out of the cave, click 'move' again and select a habitat. I hope that helps.

Likewise, if you want to save up your dragons for when you can purchase a statue to level them up further, it's a good place to store the extas until you get it. But keep in mind, any dragons in the hibernation cave don't earn any income, so they're basically useless in there if the habitat isn't already full!
