On a 1997 Pontiac Firebird, the high beam switch is typically located on the left side of the steering column. It is integrated into the turn signal lever; pulling the lever towards you activates the high beams, while pushing it away returns to low beams. If you're looking for a specific feature, consult the vehicle's owner manual for detailed instructions.
the inside bulbs are the high beams.
To change the high/low beam switch in a 1992 Pontiac Firebird, first disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety. Remove the steering column cover by unscrewing the necessary screws, then locate the switch attached to the column. Disconnect the wiring harness from the old switch, remove it from the column, and install the new switch in reverse order. Reassemble the steering column cover and reconnect the battery to complete the installation.
Low beam bulb burnt out? Replace bulb. Bulbs OK? If the dimmer switch is also the turn signal/cruise/headlight on and off switch, you probably have to replace the entire switch.
On the top side of the steering column about halfway down, the high beam/low beam headlight switch should be bolted to the column right beside it. Inside the vehicle.
i dont think they have a fuse.you either have a blown blub or its the highlow beam switch itself
This job isn't too difficult. You have to remove the panel underneath the dash to access the steering column. The hi beam switch is located to the left of the column, and it is held in place by two 5/16" or 8mm screws.
It might be the high/low beam switch. Had to replace one on my '96 when I had only low beams.
If the dimmer control is built into the turn signal lever rather than on the floor, then the switch will be inside the left side of the steering colume.
The steering wheel will have to come off and then the top cover on the column has to come off and then you will be able to see how the switch comes out, just a few screws.
In a 2003 Pontiac Aztek, the low beam lights go out when you switch to high beams because of the vehicle's lighting design. The high beam circuit takes priority over the low beam circuit, meaning that only one set of headlights can operate at a time. This is a common feature in many vehicles to ensure adequate power distribution and prevent overload. If you find that the low beams aren't functioning at all, it could indicate a problem with the headlight switch or wiring.
The high beam switch is on the reverse of the turn signal switch arm
If your asking for the 77 model, it's in the floor on the left side, you use your left foot to press it down to turn them on or off.
