that would be the injection pump lift pump. the high pressure oil pump is also in that area
47 to 60 PSI!
The fuel injector pressure regulator is located in the injector fuel pump. Most pressure regulators cannot be separated from the fuel injector pump.
oil level, cam sensor, fuel concern, high pressure oil pump and many other things recomend scantool to check for codes and go from there.
it is located under the back of the turbo in the high presure oil pump cover near the ipr
96 powerstroke is 7.3 liter engine. it has proven to be the most reliable engine that ford has built. i can personally attest to this. and in actual fact ,yesterday i bought new truck.my old truck was a 96 f350 crew cab dually with the poerstroke. i had 270 thousand miles on it. in the 12 years i had it , i was not kind to it and on the engine i replaced the water pump once and the lfuel lift pump once the powerstroke really is a hard engine to kill. and it was running when i sold it yesterday
It pumps fuel at a higher pressure than a standard fuel pump.
