The hottest place in Greece is definatly Larissa, which is a city located in a plain in central Thessaly on the mainland. Temperatures have reached above 46 degrees centigrade/115F there, although it rarely gets quite that hot in a typical summer. 40 degrees is not uncommon though in July and August there and other hot-spots such asthe center of Athens, downtown Thessaloniki and the inland peloponese as well. The hottest month is July, but August and even June can be quite hot as well with temperatures reaching near 40 in most places, but the heatwaves tend to last longer in July.
