According to my 2006 Ascender owners manual the oil capacity with filter is 7 quarts. This is for the 2006 4.2
where are the spak plugs located on the 2005 ascender?

Bought one for my 2004 Isuzu Ascender. Depends on what filter you buy, and who replaces it. The cost for the actual filter ranges from $7 to $48 dollars for the 'professional' fuel filter. The labor ran me $50.00 to install it. I am sure I could have had it done cheaper, but am new to the area and haven't yet found a good, honest, reputable, non-franchise (independent) mechanic, if such a creature exists.
Remove 3 screws on the big black box on the right hand side by the coolant reservoir and remove the metal bar it has on the side by the rod that hold the hood up. And the filter is under the black box just lift it up

Ascender Corporation was created in 2004.
Your owners manual will contain this information. If you do not have one, then just go to an Auto Parts store and have them look it up to see if this car has a cabin filter. If it does, then purchase a Purolator filter. They come with complete instructions including location, for replacing the filter.
Just use pliers to pull it up. And the headlights come off. To put it back just push the locking clip down.
