The glow plugs on these 7.3s are under the valve covers it is a weird place but works EDIT, No they are not. "These 7.3's" referring to what year? The 1993 Glow plugs are located inboard of the injectors and not under the rocker covers. They can be removed with a deep socket 3/8" thin wall.
So that the glow plugs have time to work.
GPCM ( glow plug control module) is the module that controls the glow plugs along with the PCM. It's located on the right ( passenger side) front valve cover. It has two large square connectors one is green and other is black.
the relay is on top of the motor next to the spider on the front of the turbo toward the pass side. there are 2 relays. the rear one is for the glow plugs

yes it will but you will have to change the engine wiring harness over, or change the 7.3L glow plugs over to the 6.9L style and change the glow plug controller as well
Depends on which diesel you are talking about. A 1993 or earlier the glow plugs located outside edge of the heads below the valve cover. 1994 through early 2003, the 7.3 turbo diesel engines the glow plugs are located in the heads but under the valve cover. You will need to remove the valve cover to retrieve the glow plugs. Basically the non turbo diesels have the glow plugs outside edge of the heads. In all turbo diesels you have to remove the valve covers to get to the glow plugs.
