The low pressure service valve is located in the line that runs from the compressor through the evaporator (fire wall) and up to the condenser on the low pressure (suction) side of the system. This will also be the larger diameter line.
You add refrigerant through the low side port. There is a web site www.idqusa.com that will tell you were the port is located on a 96 grandam, along with much more helpfull information.

The low pressure side is located on the compressor. To locate the port, jack up the driver side and crawl underneath to locate the compressor. Add the freon to the port on the compressor.
