Look to the front of the coin. It should be below Kennedy's neck.
P = Philadelphia
D = Denver
S = San Francisco (proof coins only)
If you have any older (pre-1980) halves, those from Philadelphia will not have a mintmark.
The coin is still in circulation today and has face value only.
JFK
Half a dollar. Idiot.
That's Eisenhower, not "eisenhouer", and if it's Ike's picture you have a $1 coin, not a half dollar; if you have a half dollar it's JFK's picture, not President Eisenhower.Please determine which one you have and post a new question including the coin's date.
JFK is on the US half-dollar COIN. The US hasn't printed half-dollar bills since the 19th century. JFK was assassinated in November 1963. In 1964 his portrait was placed on the half dollar in his honor.
jfk
JFK
1964
Yes, that is JFK on the coin.
All half dollars dated 1971 and later are made of copper-nickel, not silver, and are worth exactly face value - 50 cents.
Please check your coin again. Lincoln is on the penny, JFK is on the half dollar.
If you mean a bicentennial half dollar, it's just 50 cents.
