It should be etched into the back cover. For Fossil watches, it usually starts with two letters followed by four numbers.

The problem is that Fossil release too many watches every year. So many that it is nearly impossible to identify them unless you're a professional.
If you can't see a number on the back or behind the glass as described above, you can ask someone at a local watch or jewellery shop if they know what the model number is.
