∙ 12y agoIt's supposedly the stairway that's in the satanic church. Its said that the stairway never ends. The church was burnt down over a year ago. I drove by it a week ago for the first time (Tagus is about 40 mins from my house) all thats there now is a tombstone like marker with the name of the church on it. I didn't see a stairway but didn't get out of the car to look eather. Tagus is closer to the size of a street than a town. To find the mouth go down the street 3/4s of a mile and it's on your right.

The river also had strategic value to the Spanish and Portuguese empires, as it guarded the approach to Lisbon. For example, in 1587, Sir Francis Drake briefly approached the river after his successful raid at Cadiz.
