Ruapehu, Whakaari, Ngauruhoe.
The Ngauruhoe eruption in 1975 caused minor damage, mainly due to ash fall and lahars. Some infrastructure was affected, but there were no casualties. Despite its explosive nature, the damage was limited because the volcano was in a remote area of New Zealand.
As with Ruapehu and Tongariro, Ngauruhoe is a volcano on New Zealand's Central North Island. All three volcanoes are found in Tongariro National Park, which is a world heritage site.
Mount Ngauruhoe is on North Island, New Zealand. It is an active stratovolcano or composite conevolcano.
The volcanoes Tongariro, Ngauruhoe, and Ruapehu are the three mountains near Lake Taupo in New Zealand.
Mount Ngauruhoe is the youngest of the three volcanoes in the the taupo volcanic zone. Although thought by many to be a volcano in its own right, it is actually a secondary vent of Mount Tongariro.
1.Ngauruhoe erupted 45 times in the 20th century, most recently in 1977.]Fumaroles exist inside the inner crater and on the rim of the eastern, outer crater. Climbers who suffer from asthma may be affected by the strong sulphurous gases emitted from the crater. 2. Mount Ruapehu was used in the Lord of the Ring movies. It was known as Mount Doom and was where the infamous ring was created. It was used for the scenes on Mt Doom because Mt Ngauruhoe (which was used for external shots) was too dangerous to film on. 3. Traditionally Ngauruhoe has erupted at least every nine years, although at the time of writing the last eruption was in 1975. 4. The volcano lies between the active volcanoes of Mount Tongariro to the north and Mount Ruapehu to the south, to the west of the Rangipo Desert 25 kilometres to the south of the southern shore of Lake Taupo
