Its inside the oil pan, you need to remove an access cover on the oil pan (big round plug) the filter element is up inside, grab the end with a pair of pliers and pull straight down whilst twisting the element. similar to the older 2.5L tech 4 engines in the 87 and later Celebrity and others.
