# The oil pan is in the center, almost directly between the two front tires. When you look under your car, you can see two pans. The oil pan will be the smaller of the two, more to the front, and will have a bolt in the corner of it.
You remove the bolts to the oil pan and the pull the oil pan off and the gasket.

It is bolted to the rear main cap and inside of the oil pan.
You will need to drain the oil from your 1989 Chevrolet 5.7 liter engine oil pan. Remove the oil pan bolts. The oil pan will come off.

Drain the Caprice oil. Unbolt the pan and lower. If needed, raise the engine by using a jack and unbolting the engine mounts. Take out the pan and clean the old gasket from the pan and engine block. Reinstall the pan with a new gasket. Reconnect the motor mounts if needed then fill the engine with oil.
You would probably need to contact a custom oil pan fabricator such as Hamburger or others and have one made.
Oil Pan torque on the small block Chevy V8 is 12 lb/ft.
Drain the oil from your 1996 Chevy Lumina oil pan. Remove the oil pan retaining bolts. The oil pan will come off.
16 bolts on the trany oil pan is a 700r and 12 bolts on pan is a 400r
Drain the engine oil. Using a jack for support, unbolt the engine from the motor mounts. Raise the engine just enough, then unbolt the pan and pull it out. Clean the engine block surface, then install the new pan and gasket.
