On a 1990, the sensor is located in the oil pan about midway between the left and right sides. The cable comes out of the rear (facing the back of the car) through a rubber plug-like grommet. I haven't discovered the indicator on my car yet, and the owner/operator manual is no help. It briefly mentions the sensor as an option and that's it!
