On my 80's Chevy pick-ups they are under the distributor on the back of the block near the firewall.
It is behind the distributor at the firewall.
The oil sensor is junk. You MUST replace it. Be sure to put a SMALL amount of sealer on the threads. When you start the engine the oil pump pumps oil up to and in the oil sensor.
can a knock sensor leak oil for 305
10w30 weight oil.
Four (4) quarts
5 QUARTS WITH AN OIL FILTER CHANGE
Weak oil pump? Clogged oil screen?
On the left rear side of the block just below the head
5qts. with a new filter.
it's inside the oil pan
A 1992 Chevy Caprice 305 5.0L engine holds 5 quarts of motor oil. This includes a small amount of oil used in the oil filter.
possibly the oil pressure sending switch...thats whats on my 87 305 h WRONG!!!!!!!!! the oil pressure switch/sensor is where it always is on pushrod small chevy's, under the distributor. what you see next to the right valve cover are the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor, and below that is the EGR control solenoid
