There is no country directly on the other side of the world to England. That would place you in the ocean, somewhat southeast of New Zealand. The northern island of New Zealand is directly opposite of Spain. Australia is directly opposite the north Atlantic, and does not overlap with any land of significant size.
The opposite side of the world to England is actually in the ocean, near the coast of New Zealand. When flipping around the coordinates of England, you will get 51 S, 180 W, which is in the ocean near the Antipodes Island, which are part of New Zealand.
Japan extends from about 30° to 45°N latitude and 130° to 145°E longitude, so in the other (Western) hemisphere, this would be in the middle of the North Atlantic.
However the antipode (opposite side of the planet) would be in the Southern Hemisphere, just off the eastern coast of Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina. It is an indication of the vast width of the Pacific that countries linked demographically with Japan (Chile, for example) are very nearly halfway around the world.
The point is in the central north Atlantic Ocean, about 430 miles west of the Azores.
That's where you would emerge if you drilled a hole straight down from Melbourne,
directly through the center of the earth and out the other side.
I look up the earth's diameter, and apparently, it is 7,926 miles. With that, the answer is... Depends. If you go southwest from Arizona, you would land in Australia. If you go a bit north, you will land in the Pacific Ocean, go far enough north, you will be in Russia. However, going east instead, you will only land in the Atlantic Ocean.
no England isn't on the opposite side of the world to England! THEY ARE THE SAME PLACE! the country opposite England is AUSTRALIA!
china, tokyo is opposite to Edinburgh!
It's called get a globe...
the Ocean
The world is divided into Northern and Southern Hemispheres and Eastern and Western Hemispheres. If you are in England then the opposite side of the world is the Southern Hemisphere from one pole to the other or the Eastern Hemisphere from one side of the Earth to the other.

on the opposite side of the world
My antipode is on the opposite side of the world.
Degrees East and West of Greenwich, England. From 0° to 180° on the opposite side of the Earth.
In other countries around the world, they drive on the opposite side of the road as we do in America. England is an example. Therefore the steering wheel is place on the side of oncoming traffic.
china maybe or japan???

The exact opposite side of the world from New York City is a spot in the southern Indian Ocean; the closest city to that spot would be Perth, Western Australia.
There is not an adjacent opposite side.
Brit cars have their steering wheels on the right side (opposite most of the world) and they drive in the left lane (opposite of most of the world).
