Christian Science is a particularly spiritual approach to Christianity and healing founded by Mary Baker Eddy, based on her lifelong study of the Scriptures and her own evolving recognition of God's ability to heal today as He did in the time of Jesus and the early followers of Jesus. After forty five years of experiencing many difficulties and self-researching various approaches to healing, such as homeopathy, Mary Baker Eddy finally had a turnaround in her well-being that she attributed to grasping the spiritual basis of the healing done by Jesus. After her unexpected recovery from a severe accident, she devoted the rest of her life to healing others and sharing her understanding of how to heal with those who wanted to learn. These ideas are still fully available in her book "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures", available from any Christian Science Reading Room and from many bookstores, as well as being shared through Christian Science churches and websites (e.g. www.christianscience.com).
