I believe the Solara is the same as the Camry. You have to remove part of the center console to access the adjustment.
Check the brake light switch located under the 1989 Toyota Corolla. If the switch is stuck the parking light will continue to stay on.
On a 1998 Chevy Blazer, the parking brake switch is located on the top of the parking brake assembly. There are 3 bolts that hold the switch to the parking brake assembly.
Disk brakes at all four wheels. The rear disk has an area in the center where shoes for the parking brake fit. Cheers
it maybe the brake switch
Faulty or over sensitive parking brake switch or sensor.,
Brake light switch is defective or needs adjustment.
If a brake light stays on it's usually just a sticky or bad switch. The brake light switch is under the dash and is activated by the brake pedal. It could have some grunge on it preventing the switch from closing. Try cleaning the plunger. If that doesn't work (and it probably won't) replacement is very easy. Cheers
My owner's manual says it's either low brake fluid or a faulty parking brake switch.
Looking under the hood you should find the brake fluid to be in the top right corner.
Brake and parking lights? Are you sure, the two aren't interconnected. Maybe it's just the brake light. If so, sounds like a bad brake light switch. If you step on the brakes and the brake and parking (sometimes called running lights) lights come on it sounds like you have a real problem. Suggest you have it checked right away.
The switch at the parking brake in the cab needs adjustment, just loosen the retaining nut and move it closer to the pedal then tighten.
