To get the map piece :
- Get the cracker from Petey's Pub and go to the Trading Post where the parrot is sitting.
- The parrot will say "Squaawk! Jump in the sea, then come and find me." (go into the water by your ship, and swim ashore)
- When you return, he is on the left upper window of the Trading post. Now he will say "Squaawk! Clog the vent, then see where I went."
- Jump atop the ash screen on the chimney of Petey's Pub, to partly stop the smoke.
- Now the parrot is on a palm tree at far right, and will direct you to see its owner, a pirate atop the tall tower near the dock, saying "Squuawk! To the old tower go, and find a pirate I know."
- Go to see the pirate, who will ask you to retrieve his parrot. Return to the rooftop of the Trading Post, and lure the parrot down with the cracker. Lead him to the tower and receive the map piece from his owner.
- Once you leave the island, the pirate and parrot disappear.

What do you do after you find the map pieces on Skullduggery Island?
Put the five pieces together, and a sixth outlying island will appear (it is named, aptly enough, Skullduggery). Not only does it appear on the maps, but you can now go there, where it was previously open ocean. The more time-consuming activity is earning doubloons by salvage or trading. The most profitable route is a clockwise one : Dragon Cove --> Bouffant Bay --> Parrot Port --> Golden Harbor --> Pirate Outpost and back to Dragon Cove. This is because each of the four cargoes has someplace where it is very cheap, and someplace where it can be sold for much more. (You can leave out Parrot Port if you like because nothing there is very cheap to buy.) Once you have the most powerful ship, the Phoenix Warbird, you can challenge Captain Crawfish. Chasing him off will let you get the Buried Treasure location from the Governor. (It is on Skullduggery, the new island, but cannot be found until then.)

Why doesn't the vent clog on Skullduggery Island?
You are probably going there at the wrong time. When you see the parrot on the barrels, jump into the sea (left) and return to find him near the roof. Then he says to clog the vent, and you stop the smoke for a few seconds from the chimney on top of the pub. Go right to the palm tree and he will send you to see the pirate (far left tower). There you can use the cracker (from inside pub, upper left) to call the parrot.
How do you get more money on skullduggery island?
It took me a couple hours to get the best ship. Like a lot of people's suggestions buy cheap from one island and sell high to the next. I only sold to Parrot Port and didn't buy from there because everything was over twenty doubloons. If something is over 20 doubloons don't buy it. I first saved up $30,000 to buy that ship because then you have a ship with plenty of cargo, faster speed, and cannons. After that it takes no time at all to get money because you have so much space. Trust me, you'll get plenty of money because you can defeat creatures and sell more. Good luck! On Skullduggery island, a day only passes when you leave one island and land at another. It is possible to complete an entire game and have only 10 days pass. However, to save time, it usually requires at least 2 extra trips to Golden Harbor for loans, and the minimum becomes about 15 to 20 days. With normal trading, games will last from 25 to 75 days on average. Players who learn attacking skills can shorten the game by aggressively attacking sea monsters and pirates, then salvaging cargo after sinking them.
