remove glove box (5 screws). Module is directly to the right of the radio.
It indicates a problem with your power steering system. Could be as simple as low power steering fluid level.
on the left side of the engine, right above the A/C compressor. you will have to remove the duct work to gain access to it, it has a big pulley on it
NGK V power
It controls the variable power steering on your vehicle. The faster the car goes the less power steering the vehicle needs. The module is what controls that. It senses the cars speed and then determines how much power steering "power" needs to be applied.
The power steering is controlled by the body control module. There is no fluid.
The power steering module has lost the engine speed signal. This is normal if the engine is not running. If the fault code comes up with the engine running, you have a problem.
I am not familiar with that model or its engine size. Aircon. takes its share of power from your engine, in a small capacity 4 cyl. engine it is very noticable.
If you have the owner's manual it will have a diagram with it labeled. Otherwise it's towards the front of the engine in the middle right portion. The container is about the size of a small kleanex box. There will be two arrows indicating the proper refill level that will be about half an inch apart.
the forenza has a defective power steering pump design. we have an '04 and we are on our third pump. the bearings at the front of the pump go out. our third pump is already starting to make the noise, and we only have 10,000 miles on this pump. complete junk (it has been a great car otherwise 105,000+) oh also the factory new pumps run as high as $500-600. if you can find the rebuilt ones they run $100-200. there is only one company who rebuilds them, and the last time i needed one they did not have any to rebuild. so i went new.
Sensors detect the motion and torque of the steering column, and a computer module applies assistive power via an electric motor coupled directly to either the steering gear or steering column. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_steering
