petcocks are usually located on one of the bottom corners of the radiator, on the back (engine side).
The thermostat housing on a 1997 Chevy Cavalier is located on the engine block, near the front of the engine, at the junction where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine. To access it, you may need to remove the upper radiator hose and possibly other components for better visibility. The thermostat itself is housed within this assembly, which is typically secured by bolts. Always ensure the engine is cool before attempting to work on it.

IT IS LOCATED INSIDE THE PASSENGER SIDE FENDER WELL BEHIND THE BUMPER COVER.
