You can identify the switch by lying underneath and removing the two spade terminals, connect them together, with the ignition switched on,your reversing light should now work. You can then eliminate the fault. it may be that the warning light on the dashboard is faulty. The bad news is that a new switch may not solve the problem. The switch is activated by the reverse selector depressing the contact on the switch.
