There are verses of the Greek scriptures that talk about removing individuals from fellowship for certain reasons and under certain circumstances; there is also a verse that say whatever is bound [By Peter] on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever loosed on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
The verse you are referring to is in Matthew 16:19, which reads "And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
Jesus Christ granted it when he told Peter 'Whatever you bind on earth shall also be bound in Heaven and whatever you loose on earth shall also be loosed in Heaven.'

This scripture refers to the power given to man as sons of God to walk in dominion over the earth and bind or remove on earth what is bound/removed from heaven. This includes sickness, disease, injury, poverty, sorrow, fear, doubt, worry, guilt, addiction, sin and death. You also have the power to loose those things on earth that are loosed in heaven - the fruit and gifts of the Spirit such as love, joy, peace, happiness, self control, gentleness and kindness, and the gift of tongues, interpretation of tongues, wisdom, word of knowledge, discerning of spirits, healing, miracles, and the gift of prophecy.
When Our Lord appointed Peter as the first leader of His Church, he told him:"I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." ~ Matthew 16:19The keys continue to be symbolic of the papacy today.
Yes. They are all around us. //Scripture tells us that both heaven and hell are geographical places. Hell is thought to be under the earth's surface, miles down. Heaven, although an actual place is harder to pinpoint where it is.
probably to god we are in heaven and to him he is in Earth but as in now we aren'tAnother Answer:The Scripture indicates 3 places known as 'heaven.' They are the atmosphere, space (both Physical realms) and the 'highest heaven,' the Throne of God which is a Spiritual realm. If you are speaking of the latter Spiritual realm, the answer in NO. Humans live in the physical realm with our atmosphere and can travel in Space. However, after the Millennial Rule and the Judgement Process, Scripture indicates that most will change into spiritual children of God and a New Heaven will descend to the New Earth and the Throne of God and Jesus will live with His children for eternity (Revelation 21).
Basically, it means that the pope makes the rules. Whatever he says on Earth will also be acknowledged as law by Heaven.
People frequently mention that St. Peter is the gatekeeper. However, the Bible never mentions a gatekeep of heaven, by name. In Revelation 21:12 it says "It had a great and high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names were written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel."In the New Testament Our Lord tells Peter, "And I will give to you the Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you bind on Earth shall be bound also in Heaven. Whatever you loose on Earth shall be loosed also in Heaven."
