Its under hood, fuse space #32, takes a yellow 20amp fuse
Opening the hood on a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am is very easy to do. The hood is opened by pulling on the hood release latch inside the car on the drivers side. After the latch is pulled the hood will release. The hood is then opened by pulling the second release under the hood.
Check the driver belt, tensioner and the a/c clutch and compressor.......
You pull the release under the dash, and release the secondary catch under the hood.
It's under the hood, on the passenger side. There is a structural member that runs diagonally from the front center to the firewall that has to be removed to access it.
Pull on the hood release handle under the dash driver side. Then go to the front of the car, lift the hood slightly to access the secondary hood catch. Release it and open the hood.Pull on the hood release handle under the dash driver side. Then go to the front of the car, lift the hood slightly to access the secondary hood catch. Yes (all Azteks have the same engine. Mind you, Azteks were only made from 2001-2005) - GM 3400 3.4-liter V6 185 Horse Power and 210lbs of torque. Many GM cars have this engine, including the Pontiac Grand Am, which says "RAM AIR" under the hood, but has no such thing. :-D lol
This link has many helpful diagrams. There should also be one under your hood by the belt labeled Accessory Drive Belt Routing. So if you find the diagram on your car you can match it to the diagram in this link and it will even tell you what to loosen to get the belt off. http://www.2carpros.com/car_repair_information/tec_info/2001/pontiac/aztek/2001_pontiac_aztek_drive_belt_routing_diagram.htm
there is a primary hood release lever in the driver's side kick panel and a secondary release accessed through the star on the front grill. First release the hood from the lever inside the car and then reach through the driver's side of the hood star to release the secondary latch
