Motion detector alarm systems operate by using light sources. A beam of light is aimed at the light sensor and anyone who passes causes the sensor to register.
Check your fuse box far the lowest fuses and then pull one by one out until the alarm goes of. Or check under your seat, most of the cars seat belt sensor is underneath the seat and then you can just pull the plug out. The sensor can also be inside your dashboard behind the light of your seat belt light. Or if you can find the small speaker then you can pull the wire out.
it is on the windshield behind the mirror..there is a black plastic cover behind the inside mirror, sensor is inside that cover..

Are you sure you have and alarm. E46 did not come with a pre installed alarm. It was a dealer installed item. You can checked by removing the trim cover on the inside roof trim just behind the opening for the sunroof. Just pry if off with something thin like a credit card or something. If theres a sensor in there then you most likely have an alarm, if not then you don't. The most common problem would be the alarm siren that is accessed from under the hood. Search for E46 alarm install to see how to get to that.

When the LED light on an aftermarket alarm stays on, it means that the alarm is active. The light generally shows that the alarm status is "ready."
The alarm box controls the shutdown of the vehicle when it gets too hot by using information from a temperature sensor. The CDI will shut down. It also controls the red warning light.
It is inside the transmision, it is called the range sensor.
Because it is day time and the light will only switch on at night? A lot of solar lights have a photo sensor, light sensor, that prevents it from using up energy when it is light out. You can cover up the sensor and it will turn on.
