yes It's at the lower rear end facing rearward, on a little silver rectangular tag, well under the PTO shaft linkage, at least on my 700 series compact diesel tractor. Sometimes they are on the side frame

The model number is basically used to identify a series of equipment. This is also used for parts if the mower needs to be serviced. Usually the smaller numbered mowers have less horsepower or are sized smaller but the number is NOT a way to identify horsepower or cubic inches.
