The Browning was built in 1968 on a long extractor FN Mauser action. The Leupold scope was built prior to 1974.
According the their website, they are manufactured in Beaverton, Oregon. But there is an increase number of "fake" coming out of China, and Leupold will not service them and are not covered under their warranty. If you think you may have one from China contact Leupold. Leupold employs serial number tracking for all its riflescopes, so if a customer finds a scope that is suspect, he or she can simply write down the serial number and call 1-800-LEUPOLD to confirm if it is indeed authentic. You can also contact them online here. http://www.leupold.com/hunting-and-shooting/contact-us/service-support/

Assuming that is the serial number, which puts in 1980, that should be the Browning BBR bolt-action rifle. Assuming rifle and scope are in excellent condition, about $650. sales@countrygunsmith.net
The best scope to use for hunting is one that isn't cheap. The cheaper the scope is the lower the quality it is. In this instance, one gets what they paid for. The best Leupold Scopes are ones that are of the measurements 3.5-10x40mm.
