The speed sensor is located on the top of your transmission. You can see it pretty easily by just climbing under and looking for it.
On the topside of the transmission at the back of the transmission
if you look directly below your throttle body you will see the speed sensor sticking straight up, it will be held on with 2 bolts and will have a set of wires coming out of the top Speed sensor location(sensor removed) http://www.norcalcrx.org/library/images/axle_31.jpg Picture of speed sensor http://hondacrx881.tripod.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/.pond/dsc00482.jpg.w300h225.jpg
where the speedo cable connects to the transmission
Look on the back on the transfer case. There should be one wire running from it. That's your speed sensor. -- Blake.
Speed Sensor is not working
The speed sensor connector is located on top of the transaxle, passenger side. It is next to the end where the CV axle goes into the transaxle.
Well, honey, the vehicle speed sensor on a 1989 Acura Integra is located on the transmission. To test it when the ECU delivers a code 17, you'll need a multimeter to check the sensor's resistance and make sure it's within the manufacturer's specifications. If it's not, well, you might just have to replace the darn thing.
No input sensor. The vehicle speed sensor is located in the top of the housing that the right axle shaft goes into.
In the transmission tail section same place the speedo gear is.
If the transmission is the 3-speed 31TH, the speed sensor is located on the back of the transmission, follow the right side CV halfshaft, and the sensor is mounted right near where the inner CV joint splines into the differential. If it's the 4-speed transmission (not likely), it would be located on the front of the transmission. I suggest getting a Haynes Repair Manual, it should verify the location.
Well the speed sensor should be located down by the trasnmision on the drivers side close to the motor block to help you more try to get a picture diagram in the auto repair book you can get it at any auto parts store...
