There is no such thing as a shift sensor, It is controled by the computor. You need a engine scanner so you can go into the transmission system and see what is going on with the transmission.

Not certain on that year but the shift sensor used to be inside the transmission. take the pan off and the sensor has wire running to it. take the wire off and unscrew the sensor. screw the new one in, put the wire back on. put it back together and fill her up.

The air bag sensor should be located somewhere close to the gear shift. It is either in front of or behind it.
Align the shift indicator orreplace it. Your problem is strictly column mechanical.
