Raise front of vehicle and place on jack stands. Remove six hex bolts using 10mm socket to remove splash pan. Bingo....oil pan.
You have to jack the car up and rest it on jackstands. Drain the oil by reoving the drain plug (the big bolt on the oil pan). Remove the crossmember underneath the oil pan by removing the bolts on both ends. Then remove the bolts holding the oil pan onto the block and remove the pan. Take note of the 2 bolts that are longer than the rest, these go where the support brackets for the transmission cooler lines are. This is I removed the pan on a 97 Nissan Pickup with the 2.4 liter engine.
