The Solenoid is located on top of the starter on the rear passenger side of the engine block.

Depending on engine the solenoid is located on the either the firewall or the starter. You can usually follow the neg. battery cable (black) to it. Be sure to disconnect battery when changing this part. It is in the starter.

I assume you mean the starter solenoid. It is mounted right on the starter itself.

Its one of the wires coming off the positive (+) terminal of the battery. Don't burn yourself on the exhaust manifold
Right side of vehicle under the oil filter for 4.0 engines. It is located on the starter. The solenoid is another smaller cylindrical shaped device that is mounted to the starter. If you have to replace it you have to buy the whole starter assembly that comes with a solenoid. I have not found a way to replace only the solenoid. Jeep engineered this to benefit their dealer service garages.
